This web page outlines details of the pending applications the Council's Trading Standards & Licensing Section have received in respect of the following application types: -
Any person or business, or someone acting on their behalf such as a residents association, trade association or elected councillor, can make 'representations' or comments to the Trading Standards and Licensing Section in respect of the above application types.
Comments may be positive or negative, but will only be considered ‘relevant’ by the council if they relate clearly to the licensing objectives. Councils will also reject comments considered to be 'frivolous' (not serious or time-wasting) or if they relate to personal disputes between businesses.
If you wish to submit representations in respect of any of the applications listed below they must be received by the Trading Standards & Licensing Section by the closing date for the receipt of representations for the particular application. Representations received after this date cannot by law be accepted.
Representations must be in writing and include the full name and address of the person or persons making the representation. Representations can be made via email to licensing@wigan.gov.uk
Please also be aware that the Licensing Act 2003 requires us to send copies of all representations received to the applicant or the applicant’s representative. In exceptional cases the Council may decide to withhold some or all of an individual's personal details from the applicant.
Please be aware that it is an offence, knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application and the maximum fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction for the offence.
